A consortium led by Hagerman Group has secured a contract to design and construct a new fixed-base operator (FBO) facility at Fort Wayne International Airport (FWA) in the US.

The team from Hagerman will design, construct and equip the proposed FBO terminal on the west side of FWA, which will replace the existing FBO terminal on the north side of the airport, as well as provide associated site work outside of the airport operations area.

"In the end, the Hagerman FBO design-build team provided the airport authority with the best plan and best value for the project."

It also covers functional and aesthetic improvements to three existing hangars and their support buildings.

Fort Wayne-Allen County Airport Authority airports director Scott Hinderman said: "Among other things, the new FBO terminal will be the front door to Fort Wayne, as well as north-east Indiana, for corporate visitors and other individuals seeing our community for the first time.

"We sought out and received design and construction ideas from a number of teams. In the end, the Hagerman FBO design-build team provided the airport authority with the best plan and best value for the project."

A total of $4.5m will be invested in the construction of the new FBO facility and other improvements at the airport.
