Schoenefeld and Tegel Airports in Berlin, Germany, welcomed 2,601,820 passengers in July, which is an increase of 4% when compared with last year’s traffic during the same month.
While 657,309 passengers were recorded in Schoenefeld, marking an increase of 4.1%, Tegel saw a rise of 3.9% with a total of 1,944,511 passengers.
Flight movements in Schoenefeld rose to 6,030, representing a rise of 6.45%. Tegel saw an increase of 4%, bringing its total of 16,440 in July.
The two airports saw a total of 15,762,374 passengers travel between January and July, which is close to 5.8% more than in the same period in 2013.
Schoenefeld received a total of 4,063,601 passengers during the first seven months of the year, which represents an increase of 6.7%. During the same period, 11,698,773 passengers passed through Tegel Airport, 5.5% more than in the same period last year.
The percentage rise in flight movements is approximately 5.9% with the airports seeing 145,575 take-offs and landings. In Schoenefeld, the number of flight movements was up to a total of 40,621, a year-on-year increase of 8.4%, while the number of flight movements registered in Tegel rose by 4.9% to a total of 104,954 from January to July.
