Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA), in partnership with Unibail‐Rodamco‐Westfield Airports (URW Airports), has launched a Competitive Evaluation Process (CEP) for retail and dining spaces at Midfield Satellite Concourse in Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).

The 750,000ft² Midfield Satellite Concourse is looking for concessions for 27 commercial outlets including 28,000ft² of dining and retail space.

Two of the 27 outlets have been exclusively reserved for small business and ACDBE participation.

Midfield Satellite Concourse is expected to become operational in 2020.

Los Angeles World Airports CEO Deborah Flint said: “Los Angeles is a city of varied cultures and incredible cuisines, and we are excited to bring the flavours and creativity of the city to our guests at LAX.

“We want the experience at the airport to mirror the experience of Los Angeles, with businesses big and small coexisting to create a truly unique, vibrant feel.”

“Our new concourse will connect the world to the best of Los Angeles, and we expect a diverse array of restaurateurs, retailers and experience providers to participate in the Competitive Evaluation Process.”

The Midfield Satellite Concourse will be situated in the central area of the airfield, west of Tom Bradley International Terminal. It will be connected to the Bradley Terminal through underground tunnels servicing passengers, baggage and utilities.

The concourse will feature 12 aircraft gates, including two for new large Group VI aircraft.

Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield Airports vice-president of leasing at LAX, Michael Caro, said: “Creating these terminals is about so much more than just leasing space.

“We want the experience at the airport to mirror the experience of Los Angeles, with businesses big and small coexisting to create a truly unique, vibrant feel.”

The last date to submit proposals is 18 May.
