Aerospace products manufacturer Airbus has opened its Skywise Partner Programme to global IT services providers.

Accenture, Capgemini, FPT Software, IBM and Sopra Steria have signed an agreement to become early adopters of the programme.

More than 80 airlines worldwide are already connected to the Skywise aviation data platform, which was launched in 2017 by Airbus in collaboration with Palantir Technologies.

Skywise intends to become the platform of reference used by all major aviation companies to enhance their operational performance and business results, as well as support their own digital transformation.

The new agreement forms part of the digital transformation of the aviation sector, including its entire ecosystem.

As part of the programme, the companies will benefit from dedicated training and certification for the development of more robust applications within Skywise on behalf of an airline.

Certified partners will have access to their own working space on Skywise and new platform features.

The Skywise platform is based on a Cloud-hosted data lake that enables airlines and other aeronautics players to efficiently store, manage and analyse their data and their ecosystem.

Powered by Palantir’s Foundry technology, Skywise offers users with one single access point to their aggregated and anonymised aviation data, enriched from various sources across the industry.

The platform frees data from organisational silos to enable automated reporting, benchmarking capacity, and access to applications, which enhance airlines operations and reduce costs.

Airbus Services has recently launched the development of a new enhanced flight hour service offering, FHS Powered by Skywise.

The new service will introduce applications to simplify and expedite decision-making from identification to delivery and installation of the required parts. It will improve aircraft availability and optimise resources utilisation and components’ inventory.

FHS Powered by Skywise connects all actors of the digital aviation ecosystem and will integrate the capabilities of big data analytics with the experience of Airbus FHS global teams.
