Irish airline Ryanair has selected facility solutions provider ABM for improving and implementing a managed ground handling staffing solution at London Stansted Airport.

Beginning 1 February next year, ABM, through its subsidiary in UK OmniServ, will offer all of Ryanair’s check-in, baggage and ground operations handling at the airport.

London Stansted Airport is Ryanair’s largest base and has more than 40 aircraft and 200 departures on a daily basis.

Ryanair Operations director Adrian Dunne said: “We are pleased to award our London Stansted handling contract to OmniServ.

“We look forward to working with both OmniServ and Stansted Airport to improve the customer experience and punctuality at Stansted for the 21 million Ryanair customers who will travel through the airport this year.”

The airline carries more than 138 million customers annually on over 2,000 daily flights from 86 bases, linking 224 destinations in 37 countries.

Recently, Ryanair announced OmniServ as its new handler at London Stansted Airport after completing an extensive tendering process.

Set to replace Swissport, OmniServ will operate as Blue Handling and will offer all of Ryanair’s check-in, baggage and ground operations handling at the airport from February next year.
