Rockwell Collins is set to deploy its ARINC VeriPax passenger reconciliation solution at 13 Mexican airports operated by Grupo Aeroportuario del Centro Norte (OMA).

With the implementation of the new solution, the airports will be able to improve their security by automatically screening passengers against flight information systems using real-time data.

Rockwell Collins’ ARINC VeriPax helps streamline the entire check-in process by reducing the time required to screen passengers at security checkpoints.

Rockwell Collins Airport Systems sales head Paul Hickox said: “Airports today are faced with managing demanding security requirements while balancing operational needs to efficiently process passengers.

“ARINC VeriPax helps airports accomplish this by strengthening security while reducing the lines at security. The solution provides OMA with a wealth of data for improving its passengers’ experience and airport operations.”

The technology uses automated security screening capabilities to scan boarding passes using 2D barcode scanners.

"The solution provides OMA with a wealth of data for improving its passengers’ experience and airport operations."

This allows screening systems to receive flight date and status in real time, determine clearance and provide alerts to agents when necessary.

Besides automating the check-in process, the technology also helps airports analyse passenger flows at security checkpoints to ensure appropriate staffing and validate passenger counts from airlines.

ARINC VeriPax is  currently operating at Monterrey International Airport in Mexico.

In 2014, Rockwell Collins installed the ARINC VeriPax system at São Paulo International Airport (GRU) in Brazil.
