Dubai Aviation Engineering Projects (DAEP) has awarded Thales with a contract to supply an advanced Air Traffic Management (ATM) system.

Under the contract, Thales will deliver TopSky – Air Traffic Control (ATC) to Dubai International Airport.

Using the TopSky – ATC, the controllers of DANS can monitor real-time data updates and handle traffic volume fluctuations, changes in weather and other situations that can influence air traffic control decisions.

DAEP CEO Suzanne AlEnany said: “With the ongoing series of strategic expansions and development projects through the DAEP, Dubai International Airport is exponentially growing its passengers and cargo handling capacity, number of plane movements and the network of connected destinations.

“The partnership with Thales will strengthen our technological efficiency and fortify further our resilience to manage the Air Traffic Management, the most critical airport operations.”

Thales stated that the TopSky – ATC has the capability to meet the growing challenges for Northern Emirates airspace. 

Recently, the company secured a contract to deliver its digital platform to Società per azioni Esercizi Aeroportuali (SEA), the operator of Italian airports Milan Linate (LIN) and Milan Malpensa (MXP).
