Las Vegas McCarran International Airport (LAS) in Nevada, US, is reportedly on track to complete $13m concourse C renovation works by August.
The refurbishment involved removal of the carpet in the walkways and replacement with terrazzo flooring featuring chips of marble, quartz, granite and glass, reported Las Vegas Review-Journal.

McCarran spokesman Joe Rajchel was quoted by the newspaper as saying: “It’s easier to clean, it’s easier to maintain and for those who use rolling luggage it rolls easier.
“We’ve done terrazzo throughout the airport, so it keeps us consistent with the look and feel of the airport as we’ve done work in other portions of it.
“All of the carpet that was brought up was sent back and recycled by the manufacturer.”
Similar upgrades were also carried out by the airport at an area in the B gates in Terminal 1.

The renovation team have also increased seating capacity in the gate areas by removing bulky podiums.
In addition to new seats, the renovation crew installed new charging stations to allow people to recharge their smartphones and other devices while waiting for a flight.
Rajchel further added: “More charging opportunities for people. Again, in this age, it is a valuable commodity when they travel.”
Crews also laid Gerflor vinyl flooring in the gate areas and installed new LED light fixtures in the concourse area.
