UK’s Leeds Bradford Airport (LBA) will submit revised plans for its new terminal aimed at meeting the airport’s rising passenger numbers.
The environmentally-efficient terminal is expected to improve the passenger experience and support the economic progress of the Leeds City Region and the wider northern region of the country.

The airport will submit the plans for the proposed terminal, which will replace the current terminal building, in a few months time.
The terminal building will consist of three storeys with a total area of 34,000m² and will be constructed on an alternative site within the boundaries of the airport.
It is expected to receive the Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM) ‘excellent’ status.
Leeds Bradford Airport CEO Hywel Rees said: “This proposed development is hugely exciting for Leeds Bradford Airport and replaces our previously approved plans. For more than 55 years, LBA has provided an international gateway to and from Yorkshire.

The airport will launch a consultative process where Yorkshire residents can submit their views.
Work is expected to start before the end of this year if the plans are approved. Funded by AMP Capital, owners of LBA, the terminal is expected to be completed by 2023.
LBA first announced plans to extend its terminal building in 2018. Last year, the airport submitted its initial plans for the expansion.
In a brochure outlining the expansion, Rees said: “A year ago, we outlined our plans to meet the projected demand of seven million passengers by 2030 with an extension to the existing terminal.
“Today, after scrutinising all aspects of those plans, I am confident that we can accomplish the same result, for the same number of passengers, but in a better way.”
