Thyssenkrupp Elevator, the passenger transportation arm of Germany-based Thyssenkrupp, has received a contract to manage and maintain 90 passenger boarding bridges at Hamad International Airport in Doha, Qatar.

The company did not disclose the financial details of the contract but said it is the biggest service contract “in the entire history of its Airports Solutions business.”

The contract includes the operation of one VIP boarding bridge, which is exclusively used by the Qatar royal family and senior government officials.

Thyssenkrupp will also be responsible for the operation and maintenance of more than 500 aircraft support units.

Thyssenkrupp Elevator has already installed 391 units, including 234 elevators, 105 escalators, and 52 moving walks at the airport.
