The airport invested more than £5m in a phased programme of improvements, which have been underway for the past 18 months covering an area within the departure lounge of around 2,000m².

The latest cleaning contract at LJLA follows the company’s appointment as the cleaning and persons with reduced mobility (PRM) provider for Doncaster Sheffield Airport in April this year, with a start date of 1 June.

“We have been building up our aviation strategy over the past 18 months as we saw it was a great fit with our existing specialised service provision.”

Westgrove noted that the PRM contract signals a new level of experience for the business with specific requirements and targets that are set by the Civil Aviation Authority.

The company provides cleaning and security services to more than 70 sites across the UK.

“We have been building up our aviation strategy over the past 18 months as we saw it was a great fit with our existing specialised service provision, Synergy by Westgrove.

“This is our second aviation contact – in June we started the cleaning and PRM contract for Doncaster Sheffield Airport – and it’s the start of another successful sector for the company.”

At present, the company is on track to grow its turnover to £40m by the end of 2021.
