Cardiff Airport in Wales has opened its new-look departure lounge following months of improvement works.
Officially opened by The Wales Cabinet Secretary for Economy and Transport Ken Skates, the departure lounge improvement works were part of a £4m investment programme to enhance customer experience at the airport.

Cardiff Airport CEO Deb Barber said: “Today’s unveiling is the culmination of months of planning and the hard work of the Cardiff Airport team and contractors who supported our vision of being an outstanding capital city airport delivering an exceptional customer experience.
“The latest investment will significantly transform the experience for customers, offering more choice and quality in modern, welcoming surroundings.
“This is especially important at a time when we are experiencing passenger growth and working with our airline partners to introduce more choice in services for our customers.”
The terminal now includes additional seating in the departure lounge for passengers as well as offering better views of the runway.

By GlobalDataThe Executive Lounge has been revamped, while a new Business Lounge has been introduced to the terminal.
Furthermore, the hold baggage screening system has also been upgraded to fulfil enhanced security requirements.
Various stores have also been relocated to the departure lounge to improve the passenger experience.
Ken Skates said: “These latest improvements come at an exciting time for the Airport with new routes, including Qatar Airways’ long-haul flights to the Middle East, starting soon and opening up exciting and new tourism and trade links between South Wales and the rest of the world.”
Cardiff Airport has also opened a car hire centre near to the main terminal.
In the year 2017/18, the airport served more than 1.48 million passengers, an increase of 10% compared to last year. It also expects to witness double-digit growth in the coming year.
