Passenger traffic in Latin America and the Caribbean rose by 8%, led by strong domestic demand for air travel in populous countries such as Brazil and Mexico.

Higher growth in passenger traffic was also reported in the Middle East, which saw an increase of 7.1%, with Abu Dhabi recording a 17.1% rise.

Passenger traffic in Europe increased by 6.6%.

Russian airports also reported higher growth, with Moscow airports DME and SVO recording rises of 20.5% and 16.2%, respectively.

Asia-Pacific recorded a 4.8% rise in passenger traffic led by China, India and Thailand with Xiamen, New Delhi and Bangkok airports reporting increases of 25.8%, 23.2% and 15.9%, respectively.
