US-based Denver International Airport (DIA) served approximately 4.5 million passengers in May, indicating an increase of 2.1% when compared with the same month last year.
The growth in passenger traffic was driven by the increase in origin and destination traffic for Southwest and Frontier Airlines and follows a record growth in passenger traffic during April.

DIA CEO Kim Day said: "International traffic at DIA also continues to strongly outpace previous years, and May signalled the start of the peak season for transatlantic travel. We remain on pace to have a very strong year as we enter the height of the busy mid-year travel season."
Air cargo volume at DIA decreased by 2% from 208 million pounds to 204 million pounds, during the first five months.
