Fraport’s Frankfurt Airport (FRA) in Germany has reported a 3.3% year-on-year increase in passenger traffic in June, serving 5.6 million passengers.
Aircraft movements fell by 0.4% to 41,949 takeoffs and landings, while accumulated maximum takeoff weights (MTOWs) increased by 2.3% to 2.6 million tonnes.

Cargo handling activity dropped by 3.5% to 178,384t compared with June 2013.
During the first six months of 2014, the airport witnessed a new historic half-year passenger record, serving 27.8 million passengers, representing a 2.4% year-on-year increase.
Aircraft movements remained stable with 229,039 takeoffs and landings during the month. Deploying larger aircraft helped accumulated MTOWs rise 1.9% to 14 million tonnes for the airport.
FRA attributed this growth to increasing efficiency, ongoing replacement of aircraft, as well as flight timetable stability and reliability.
