Minot International Airport has received $10.5m in grants from the US Department of Transportation (DOT) to complete its runway and apron project.
The announcement was made by Senator John Hoeven, who had approved a grant of approximately $9m for the project under the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) grants in May.

However, the airport authorities found this amount to be insufficient to complete the project and applied for an additional $1.5m in funding.
Senator Hoeven will review the progress on the new terminal building, in addition to other projects currently underway that will improve the airport’s infrastructure and functionality.
Hoeven said: "The Minot region is growing at a tremendous rate, with more people traveling in and out of the city every year. This project, along with the new terminal we worked to fund, will provide the resources necessary for people to travel safely and efficiently."
As a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, Hoeven has been working to invest in infrastructure and other services to meet the needs of the citizens of North Dakota.
