CAE has been selected by British low-cost airline easyJet to train its 1,000 new cadet pilots on a multi-crew pilot licence (MPL) programme.
Under the long-term exclusive training agreement, selected cadets will have the opportunity to train in glass-cockpit aircraft.

The trainees will be the first ones to undergo training on CAE’s flight training device (FTD), the CAE 600XR.
CAE will also offer Airbus 320 type rating training.

By GlobalDataPilots will also train on the full-flight simulation which complies with the new European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) regulations related to Upset Prevention and Recovery Training (UPRT).
The new CAE Milan, CAE Manchester and CAE London Gatwick training centres will be used for MPL training’s basic, intermediate and advanced phases.
The MPL course will include easyJet standard operating procedures (SOPs) and threat and error management strategies, as well as air traffic control (ATC) simulation in the training devices.
Training will start next year for selected cadets who will join operations as easyJet co-pilots in 2021 upon successful completion.
CAE and easyJet have been partnering on training equipment and services since 1995.
A total of 1,200 pilots have been trained by CAE through easyJet MPL, CAE’s Integrated Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL) programme and type-rating training programmes with easyJet.
