The facility will be developed in two phases, with the first phase expected to become operational by the end of next year.

“Magellan is positioned to be one of the largest suppliers of ‘Make in India’ manufactured commercial aircraft components.”

It will feature a range of high-speed four-axis and five-axis machining centres for optimising its manufacturing efficiency and expects to employ 120 high technology and support personnel.

Following completion, the plant will support Magellan’s major North American and European original equipment manufacturer (OEM) customers, as well as help boost the Government of India’s ‘Make in India’ initiative.

Magellan Aerospace new business development vice-president Haydn Martin said: “Together, with our two longstanding joint venture relationships in India, API Surface Treatments and Triveni Aeronautics, Magellan is positioned to be one of the largest suppliers of ‘Make in India’ manufactured commercial aircraft components.
