Garmin International has introduced new safety enhancing tools, to improve airport situational awareness for pilots.
The tools, which include Terminal Safety Solutions SurfaceWatch, TerminalTraffic and SafeTaxi, are said to be the most comprehensive airport monitoring features for aircraft offered by the company.

Terminal Safety Solutions is a precise and comprehensive monitoring system that provides the pilots with a better understanding of their location within the area of the terminal relative to traffic on the ground and in the air.

SurfaceWatch provides audio-visual tools to prevent an aircraft from taking off or landing on a taxiway or on a runway that is short or a wrong one.
The crew receives an aural awareness as well as a visual display on the primary flight display (PFD), based on the takeoff and landing distance (TOLD) performance data entered during pre-flight.
