Velana International Airport (MLE) in Male, Maldives, has commenced the Maamahi Executive Lounge operations at its newly built VIP Terminal building.

The airport is managed financially and administratively by an independent corporate entity, Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL).

This VIP Terminal was established during the airport’s phase one development and features large spaces, offering passengers views from landside and airside.

It comprises a food and beverage zone, duty-free shops, and improved services.

While architect Yuji Yamazaki prepared the concept of the new VIP Terminal Building, the detailed design was executed by American engineering firm AECOM.

Construction company Beijing Urban Construction Group (BUCG) developed the new four-storey VIP Terminal building under a two-phase project.
