Jose-Luis Aragon, regional VP of air distribution Europe, Amadeus added how the technologies are allowing for a more systematic travel system: “We are very happy that Ryanair has chosen to capitalize on Amadeus’ technology to support its distribution strategy.
“With the integration of its content to the Amadeus Travel Platform, travel sellers and corporations will have a broader choice of travel options while benefiting from smooth and seamless integration into their everyday tools and processes.”
Along with the benefits of Ryanair’s leading industry punctuality and company growth, it will also help Amadeus manage their carbon footprint with the lowest CO² emissions per passenger/km of any major European airline.
This is an achievement underpinned by Ryanair’s Pathway to Net Zero by 2050 decarbonisation strategy.
Additionally, Michael O’Leary, Group CEO highlighted in the 2022 sustainability report the progress Ryanair has made in sustainability: “Over the last year, under the leadership of Thomas Fowler, our Director of Sustainability and Finance, we have made significant progress on our sustainability ambitions.
This was independently recognised by the CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project), giving us a B rating and Sustainalytics ranking us the no.1-rated large cap airline in the world and the no.1-rated airline in Europe.”
