Vanderlande Industries has completed the installation of a baggage handling system at terminal B of Sacramento International Airport in California, US.
The baggage handling system feeds six screening machines, including four groups with ticket counters and an inbound system for passengers with four claim carousels and an oversized baggage line.
The system uses Vanderlande’s Baggage Execution Systems (VIBES) software, including the Sortation Allocation Computer (VIBES.SAC), which ensures the complete operational management of baggage handling systems.
The system can handle over 6,000 bags per day.
The 669,000ft2 multi-storey terminal B offers 19 aircraft gates, a two-level roadway system and an international arrivals facility.
In addition, Vanderlande upgraded the security screening reporting system at terminal A.
