ThyssenKrupp Elevator has won two contracts to supply passenger boarding bridges, escalators and moving walks to Kunming Changshui International Airport in China and Bogota Eldorado International Airport in Colombia.

The company will deliver 77 passenger boarding bridges, 98 escalators and 34 moving walks to China’s new Kunming Changshui International Airport, which will open in early 2012.

The 550,000ft2 terminal will be able to handle up to 38 million passengers a year, with plans for this figure to be doubled.

ThyssenKrupp Elevator will also supply 39 elevators, 20 escalators, 16 moving walks and 33 passenger boarding bridges for a new terminal at Bogota Eldorado International Airport in Colombia, which will be completed by 2014.

Colombia’s largest airport handles more than 18 million passengers per year and the passenger boarding bridges offer freedom of movement in three axes, allowing flexible docking with different aircraft types.
