Global science and technology company Leidos has secured a prime contract from the US Transportation Security Administration (TSA) to continue delivering hazardous materials (HAZMAT) management and disposal services at more than 440 airport screening checkpoints.

With a total contract value of $45m, if all options are exercised, the single-award, firm-fixed-price contract has a one-year base period of performance and four one-year options.

Work under the project will be carried out at all TSA continental US, Alaska, South Pacific, Hawaii and US Virgin Islands screening checkpoints in federalised airport locations.

Leidos Civil Group president Angie Heise said: “This contract award represents the continuation of more than 13 years of Leidos support to the TSA and its more than 440 contiguous US (CONUS) and outside continental US (OCONUS) airport locations.

“The TSA's mission is vital to protecting the nation's transportation systems and ensuring freedom of movement for people and commerce. Our dedicated team remains ready to support this critical citizen solution.”

Under the terms of the deal, the company will provide regulatory support to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local hazardous material regulations, as well as management and operation of the Leidos-developed online documentation and record-keeping system.
