GMR Group and Airbus cooperate on aircraft maintenance and airport services

Airport operator and aviation infrastructure developer GMR Group has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Airbus, a producer of commercial aircraft, to collaborate on several aircraft maintenance and airport services.

Airport operator and aviation infrastructure developer GMR Group has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Airbus, a producer of commercial aircraft, to collaborate on several aircraft maintenance and airport services.

Under the scope of the MoU, which was signed at Aero India 2021 in Bangalore, the parties will explore potential collaborations in various areas of aviation services such as maintenance, training, components, digital, and other airport services.

These services will involve both military and commercial aircraft, benefiting the entire aerospace ecosystem in India.

GMR Airports south executive director and chief innovation officer SGK Kishore said: “As one of the leading operators of airports globally, we at GMR are very pleased to partner with Airbus to bring the best possible experience and services to the airlines and passengers who are our shared customers, leveraging our complementary strengths and market presence.

“Under this partnership, GMR and Airbus teams will work together and innovate across areas such as airport operations and air cargo supply chain, among others, to realise our shared goals.”

Airbus India and South Asia president and managing director Rémi Maillard said: “Airbus and the GMR Group are committed to high standards of operational efficiency and innovation. Through this partnership, we will align in our mission to provide world-class aviation services in the region. We will work together towards developing solutions that will shape the future of aviation services in the region.”

Recently, GMR Group’s consortium completed the construction of a new terminal building at Clark International Airport in the Philippines.

The construction was completed in about two years.
