Swissport International, an aviation services provider based in Switzerland, has secured a contract to carry out Air New Zealand’s ground-handling duties at four major airports in Australia.

Swissport will be responsible for offering ground-handling services for 8,000 additional flights a year at Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Perth airports under the agreement.

The contractor will start offering ground-handling services at Melbourne and Sydney airports from November 2018. Services at Brisbane and Perth airports will commence in early 2019.

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed by the MITRE Corporation, a US-based not-for-profit research and development organisation, and Airways New Zealand to enhance the capacity, safety and efficiency of the aviation sector across the Asia Pacific region.

The MoU enables the participants to jointly address challenges involved in the aviation industry and carry out research and development.

“Oriental Yuhong Waterproof Technology has been awarded a contract to deliver waterproofing system services for the new airport under construction in Beijing, China.”

The partnership will make use of their industry expertise in maximising runway capacity, and advanced airspace and procedure design in handling potential airspace projects.

The north-east UAS Airspace Integration Research Alliance (NUAIR Alliance) and Griffiss International Airport have partnered with Unifly for the enhancement of unmanned traffic management (UTM) capabilities in the airspace of New York, US.

The collaboration will work towards the improvement of UTM capabilities of the 50-mile UTM Corridor at the NY UAS Test Site.

Unifly will supply software tools that manage drone traffic in very low-altitude airspace.

They will be able to inform operators about safe and legal flying areas, as well as enable them to track air traffic and manage airspace.

Oriental Yuhong Waterproof Technology has been awarded a contract to deliver waterproofing system services for the new airport under construction in Beijing, China.

The contract includes deployment of waterproofing systems in the terminal’s Five Fingers Gallery, parking building, service building, and the flight zones.

The Oriental Yuhong Thermoplastic Polyolefin (TPO) waterproof membrane used in the construction enables the airport to withstand bad weather.
