Mumbai, India – On 14 October 2009 the first AMHS message was exchanged between the Airports Authority of India (AAI) and the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) in the course of conducting bilateral interoperability tests according to the ASIA/PAC AMHS manual.

Both participating administrations operate COMSOFT’s mature messaging solution, AIDA-NG, which has a track record of many successful trials and two operational AMHS links in Europe and the Middle East. AIDA-NG handles AFTN as well as the AMHS networks in a closely integrated way and provides sophisticated means to manage the transition procedure from AFTN to AMHS safely.

As the new standard for ground-to-ground messaging communication is being adopted rapidly, the German communication expert is particularly committed to the transition of services to AMHS and is actively pushing the development. With an increasing number of operational AMHS connections and a likewise rising number of successful trials, AIDA-NG inspires its customers with confidence regarding the impending era of this new messaging standard.

In view of the successful AMHS interoperability exercise, which was concluded exceptionally smoothly and quickly, the two air navigation service providers target to establish a permanent AMHS connection over the ASIA/PAC ATN, as soon as the impending pre-operational tests according to the ICAO AMHS manual are concluded.
