Crisplant, part of BEUMER Group and a leading global supplier of automated baggage handling systems will outline its integration skills for automated, high speed baggage handling solutions on stand number 162 at Airport Infra Expo, 26-28 April, São Paulo, Brazil.

An on-stand video will demonstrate the fully-integrated Crisplant baggage handling system at Helsinki-Vantaa Airport’s international terminal. Based on the industry’s most energy-efficient sorter, the system also combines a CrisBag® high-speed transport system, integrated RFID scanning and leading-edge Sort Allocation Computer (SAC) control system.

Crisplant is already helping airports to contribute to reducing energy-consumption, and carbon emissions, by installing the first ‘green’ sorters at airports in the Americas. The LS-4000E high-speed automated baggage handling system was installed in 2009 at Cancún International Airport, Mexico and Crisplant will also deliver and integrate two sorters, check-in stations and screening at El Dorado International Airport in Bogota, Colombia.

Klaus Schäfer, Crisplant managing director, adds, “The 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil and 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janiero, will place significant demands on Brazil’s airport capacity and security. The high profile of these world-class sporting events means that the airports’ baggage handling systems must guarantee 24/7 availability whilst meeting a surge in passenger numbers as well as supporting future expansion and demand for a safe inline baggage screening process.”

At Airport Infra Expo 2011, Brazil, Crisplant will share their experience of helping O.R. Tambo Airport, Johannesburg, to prepare for the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa, with the installation of a new baggage handling system. This increased the airport’s capacity by 50% and introduced new fail-safe features to guarantee fault-less operation and 24/7 availability.”

As part of the BEUMER Group, Crisplant integrates complete baggage handling solutions which combine advanced technologies in high-speed sorting, tracking, scanning, transport and control systems. Baggage handling systems are manufactured in-house in the BEUMER Group’s own factories to provide absolute control over build quality.
