Crisplant, a leading global integrator and supplier of baggage handling systems, will be presenting the industry’s most energy-efficient high-speed automated baggage-handling system at stand number WC 10 at the Airport Show, Dubai, between 19-21 May 2009.

Representing a major breakthrough in energy efficiency, the LS-4000 high-speed sorter uses a new motor technology, which reduces energy consumption by up to 75% compared to equivalent sorters which use conventional motors. Crisplant’s high-speed linear synchronous motor eliminates contact between moving parts and achieves ultra-low levels of maintenance and very low levels of noise.

“The LS-4000E sorting system allows airports to combine improvements in high-speed baggage handling with significant savings in operating and energy costs. The innovative linear synchronous motor technology, developed specifically for the LS-4000E sorter, provides customers with a significant step towards reducing their carbon dioxide emissions as well as their energy costs and maintenance overheads.” explained Kim Nyborg Carlsen, director for airport systems at Crisplant.

Built on a versatile, modular platform, the LS-4000E ensures fast, trouble-free installation and commissioning, as well as high levels of reliability and availability. Mechanical and electrical components are fully tested and certified in-house prior to installation.

Kim Nyborg Carlsen added; “Crisplant’s track record of technical innovation and experience as a Total Project Integrator of advanced baggage-handling systems for major airports around the world has resulted in a number of high-profile contracts. These include the $123 million integration and $67 million five-year service and maintenance contract for the new Doha Airport at Qatar, which is expected to handle 20 million passengers a year.”
