In a project designed to allow passengers and of course Santa himself better check-in, arrivals and gate facilities at Lapland’s airports, Ultra Electronics Airport Systems has extended the UltraCUSE enterprise common use check-in provision. The system, which has recently been installed at Helsinki-Vantaa Airport, has been extended to three further airports in Lapland. The service is provided remotely to the Lapland airports from the central system in Helsinki across the Finavia wide area network (WAN).

Kittilä Airport, the gateway to Lapland, Kuusamo Airport, the active holiday-maker’s airport, and Rovaniemi Airport which is Father Christmas’s own airport, were provided with check-in facilities in a timely project that was completed in November 2010.

Ultra’s team worked to a tight deadline to configure the system and provide the new upgraded facilities for
passengers and staff, helping tourists make their trips to meet Santa, and getting Santa off on time for his all
important deliveries.
