According to the contract, Worldwide Flight Services will support five Boeing 747 cargo flights of the airlines which will operate on a weekly basis from Brussels.

This supports the company’s new 250,000t capacity freight centre at Brussels Airport. This investment came less than two years after Worldwide Flight Services launched an additional 9,000m² terminal in the Brucargo West development.

The new terminal has been built by the company to support the premium goods of its clients.

For enhancing efficiency and customer experience, the terminal features new technologies.

The terminal also has a devoted pharma area and kiosk-based, self-service reception spots for truck drivers.

These points allow the drivers to stay in their trucks while finishing cargo deliveries and collections, advancing their assignment to one of the terminal’s 40 cargo gates.

Furthermore, the new building has been installed with security access controls and cargo screening technologies for addressing security concerns.

Worldwide Flight Services group chief commercial officer Barry Nassberg said: “This is a significant strengthening of our relationship with Singapore Airlines and represents big gains for our operations in Belgium, France and the UK because of the airline’s size and importance in the market. We understand this responsibility and greatly value Singapore Airlines’ confidence in Worldwide Flight Services.”
