The company will supply its remote tower solution, smartVision, which will enable the Brazilian air navigation service provider (ANSP) to gain enhanced situational awareness and improve safety at the airport.

“By installing high-definition cameras at the aerodrome, we will provide air traffic controllers with a visualisation of the entire airport and its surroundings.”

The system is paired with high-resolution 360⁰ panorama view and high-performance Pan-Tilt-Zoom (PTZ) cameras, including an integrated light gun, to capture a clear picture of the airfield.

Data provided by the cameras will be transmitted to a video wall in the remote tower centre.

After analysing the data, the smartVision system will deliver static and dynamic view augmentation (including surveillance labels), automated object detection and camera tracking.

CISCEA president Major-Brigadeiro Engenheiro Fernando Cesar Pereira Santos said: “By installing high-definition cameras at the aerodrome, we will provide air traffic controllers with a visualisation of the entire airport and its surroundings, displaying information in real-time on high-definition screens in the remote operating environment.

“Visual surveillance labels will further enhance the controllers’ overview of the traffic situation picture.”

Remote tower solutions help to manage the operation of multiple airports from one remote tower centre, improve employees’ flexibility and facility management.
