Air traffic management solutions provider Indra Navia has secured contracts to provide surveillance coverage at Dubai International Airport (DIA).

A subsidiary of Indra, the company has secured surveillance upgrade contracts as part of DIA’s rapid development project.

The scope of the contracts includes the installation of two new ground movement radars (GMR), an upgrade of three existing radars and an expansion of the existing multilateration (MLAT) system.

Indra Navia will also adjust its NOVA 9000 Advanced Surface Movement Guidance and Control System (A-SMGCS), which has been operational at the airport since 2004.

The company claims that the data integration from the new and upgraded sensor systems with the NOVA A-SMGCS processing system will provide controllers with significantly improved situational awareness.
