Freeman Holdings Group is to open a new $5.5m fixed-base operator (FBO) facility at Griffiss International Airport in Rome, New York, US, in a bid to improve customer services at the airport.

Known as Million Air Rome, this addition is a part of the airport’s improvement and investment programme, which includes the addition of 32 acres of ramp for aircraft parking. The airport is also working on a US Customs and Border Patrol facility that is currently being built near the 11,821ft runway.

"Million Air Rome is an excellent tech stop option, with convenient quick turns and absolutely no congestion for those making the transatlantic jump."

An additional $150,000 will be invested to help customers feel at home with offerings of cappuccino and fresh cannolis baked by local artisans.

Speaking about the investment, Freeman Holdings Group CEO Scott Freeman said: "We have been operating a Million Air FBO at the Griffiss International Airport for a little over six years now.

"Million Air Rome has been a great location for us. Its strategic location gives us an opportunity to serve our customers travelling in the Northeast along with those travelling to and from Europe. Million Air Rome is an excellent tech stop option, with convenient quick turns and absolutely no congestion for those making the transatlantic jump."

Headquartered in Houston, Texas, Million Air is a private aviation service in the FBO industry and provides executive aircraft terminal services and upscale private charter. It currently operates 28 facilities in Canada, the US and the Caribbean.
