Irish low-cost airline Ryanair has finalised an order for five additional Boeing Next-Generation 737-800 aircraft, worth $452m at list prices.
The latest order brings the total number of unfilled Next-Generation 737 orders for the airline to 180 jets.

Ryanair director and CEO Michael O’Leary said: "The addition of these highly efficient airplanes will help provide our customers with additional options when it comes to planning their travel."
Last year, Ryanair, the world’s largest 737-800 customer, announced an order for 175 of the aircraft. To date, it placed orders for 528 aircraft of the type.
The Boeing 737-800 belongs to Next-Generation 737 family, and have been designed for improved reliability, fuel efficiency and economical performance.
Currently used by several low-cost carriers worldwide, the aircraft provides operators the flexibility to cater to a wide range of markets.

By GlobalDataBoeing Commercial Airplanes president and CEO Ray Conner said the 737-800 offers strong operating economics and will provide comfort and reliability to Ryanair passengers.
"We are honoured to be chosen by Ryanair as they expand their fleet and look forward to continuing our partnership for decades to come," Conner said.
Ryanair currently operates over 1,600 flights every day from 68 bases connecting 186 destinations in 30 countries. The airline’s fleet has more than 300 737-800 aircraft.
