For MacMurray

Canada’s Pattison Outdoor Advertising has been selected as the official out-of-home supplier for Fort McMurray Airport (YMM).

The contract grant follows opening of a new air terminal building at the airport.

Located in the centre of Canada’s oil sands, YMM and the new terminal are expected to generate approximately $363m a year in economic activity for the Wood Buffalo regional municipality.

Pattison noted that its investment will make airport advertising a highly attractive opportunity for local and national advertisers.

The company plans to provide its advertisers innovative and next-generation options.

As part of the contract, over 60% of all out-of-home products available at YMM will be digitally based.

"Combining our digital and traditional out-of-home solutions to an advertiser’s campaign will create a compelling value proposition to customers during extended dwell times and a sustainable advantage against competitors."

Fort McMurray Airport’s new terminal building will spread across a 15,000m² area, five times the size of the current building.

It will feature amenities such as a four-star hotel and a heated underground parking area, which will be connected to the terminal through a climate-controlled pedestrian walkway.

Fort McMurray Airport Authority president and CEO Scott Clements said: "We are looking forward to opening the new airport on 9 June.

"The opportunities that Pattison Outdoor Advertising will be providing for advertisers will be outstanding."
