Airport operator Abu Dhabi Airports has partnered with Etihad Aviation Group (EAG) to train 17,000 employees for the new Midfield Airport Terminal at Abu Dhabi International Airport.
The employees will undergo training to be familiarised, inducted and trained (FIT) on the terminal operation.
A pop-up website, My Terminal Complex (MyTC) was also launched to help in the communication regarding the important information about the terminal.
The website is available in English, Arabic, Hindi and Urdu, and is said to reflect the cultural diversity among the employees at the airport.
The website will inform the employees, stakeholders and the EAG about the activities and work being carried out at the Midfield Terminal.
It is also expected to spread awareness and generate excitement about the terminal.
The internal website was launched on 5 February and can be accessed using smartphones and tablets.
Emirates News Agency (WAM) quoted Abu Dhabi Airports CEO Bryan Thompson as saying: “We are delighted to be working in partnership with the EAG to familiarise our employees with the incredible infrastructure and capability of the Midfield Terminal FIT programme and its campaign, ‘MyTC’, which are both instrumental aspects of our operational readiness and airport transfer activities, and will ensure our smooth transition to, and efficient operation of the Midfield Terminal when it opens.”
In July 2019, Abu Dhabi Airports conducted a full-scale operational trial of the Midfield Terminal Complex.
In May, Abu Dhabi International Airport awarded an advertising contract to JCDecaux’s Abu Dhabi subsidiary for the new Midfield Terminal.
