Siemens Postal, Parcel & Airport Logistics (SPPAL) will be exhibiting its range of hardware and software for airports and airlines at the inter airport South East Asia in Singapore.

Solutions on display will include highly efficient baggage handling systems and intelligent digital solutions, in addition to comprehensive service offerings for the aviation industry.

Trade experts can find the Siemens team at the Singapore Expo exhibition centre in Building 4, Booth B12 from 27 February to 1 March.

SPPAL will introduce fair visitors to products such as its reliable VarioTray technology. This offers airports with a high number of transfer passengers a decisive advantage for baggage handling.

Siemens systems achieve some of the highest throughput rates worldwide, for example up to 20,000 baggage items per hour at Terminal 2 in Incheon, South Korea. SPPAL is offering a further core component for the VarioTray portfolio with its SmartTray, providing an excellent basis for predictive maintenance of tray systems.

SmartTray is part of a comprehensive concept that combines intelligent sensors with innovative Cloud technologies: Data is collected from different components and then stored and analysed in MindSphere, Siemens’ Cloud-based Internet of Things operating system. Advanced service 4.0 solutions from SPPAL, such as vibration or distance analyses are also used.

Siemens visualiSes the evaluation of the data with its own dashboard solution. The tailor-made concept heightens the baggage system’s availability and performance and extends its lifecycle, as well as enabling improved planning of system maintenance activities. Cost efficiency of processes can also be increased significantly.

The Siemens team is looking forward to meeting customers and partners at the inter airport South East Asia in Singapore, exchanging ideas and information with them and discussing the growing demands in the aviation industry.
