Jewers Doors will exhibit its world-renowned range of Esavian aircraft hangar doors on stand 1560 at MRO Middle East in Dubai, 25-26 February 2020.

Jewers Doors has been operating in the Middle East for more than 20 years, with 2019 being another successful year. Among projects completed recently was the installation of two sets of Esavian sliding hangar doors at Al Ain International Airport.

The steel-framed, bottom rolling Esavian TYPE 126 doors, which are 30m wide by 5.6m high, were installed on hangars built for Calidus, a defence technology development and manufacturing company based in Al Ain, for the assembly and flight preparation of 24 B-250 light attack aircraft for the United Arab Emirates military.

The Esavian sliding hangar doors bi-part clear of the opening and are configured in six door leaves running on three tracks. Each half of the doors is fitted internally with an audible alarm, which operates at all times when the ‘open’ and ‘close’ buttons are pressed, ensuring that all personnel inside the hangar facility are aware of the doors’ movement. Each set of hangar doors has two personnel doors for access, which are interlocked to the internal access panels of the drive units to prevent the main hangar door being used while the personnel doors are open.

All Esavian doors are designed and manufactured to meet project-specific requirements such as the size of opening, climatic conditions, wind pressure loadings, architectural features and so on. For example, our Esavian Plenum Doors achieve an environmental seal around aircraft fuselages and are bespoke designs to suit each installation. Such doors were fitted to a hangar in Oman converted for use as a painting hangar, the plenum feature ensure minimal envonmental impact from the painting process.

Ben Pritchard, regional sales manager at the Dubai Branch, says: “We already have several projects in the region confirmed for 2020, including at Fujairah International Airport, in the emirate of Fujairah. Jewers Doors also continues to operate worldwide, Australia to Azerbaijan, from our headquarters and manufacturing base in the United Kingdom.”
