Latest Esavian Doors for a Stunning Hangar

Jewers Doors – the leading supplier of aircraft hangar doors of all sizes around the world – has commissioned their latest set of Esavian doors for the new Asiana Airlines MRO facility hangar at Incheon International Airport, South Korea.

The hangar doors are formed in eight equal width door leaves each 25m high. All eight leaves are free to slide within the 173m wide) opening giving a maximum clear opening of 129m.

The doors are covered with a highly translucent twin-walled GRP cladding system which, in conjunction with the glazing to the rest of the hangar walls and roof, provides excellent natural lighting within the building.

The doors are fully power operated and use the latest wireless radio technology and laser scanning safety systems to ensure that Asiana Airlines has the safest, most reliable and versatile set of Esavian hangar doors to date.

Esavian Director, Jonathan Jewers, says: "Jewers Doors is proud to have been involved in this very prestigious and architecturally unique hangar project at Incheon International Airport. We supply doors for hangars throughout the globe and this stunning new facility is clearly world-class in terms of design and construction."

Jewers Doors is a family-owned business with three brothers as directors – Chris Jewers (Managing Director), Mark Jewers (Phoenix Director) and Jonathan Jewers (Esavian Director). It was started in 1983 by their father, Nigel Jewers, who maintains a keen interest in the engineering side of the business. It undertakes contracts throughout the globe for commercial airlines, armed forces, corporate jets and specializing in VVIP and Royal facilities.

Jewers Doors has been supplying doors for all sizes of hangars for many years (including 66 doors for Boeing 747 hangar bays). More recently, Jewers Doors has emerged pre-eminent in supplying more than 35 doors for the new ‘super hangars’ – built to accommodate Airbus A380 aircraft.
