Rex Airlines has reached an interline service agreement with Delta Air Lines to improve passengers’ travel experience between Australia and mainland America.

The agreement allows Delta passengers travelling from the US, Canada and Mexico to connect to 58 destinations in Australia.

This includes Sydney, Adelaide, the Gold Coast, Coffs Harbour, Port Macquarie, Brisbane and Melbourne.

The agreement provides Rex travellers flying to the US gain access to 40 cities.

Under the one booking with a single baggage drop option, passengers can book all flights, including connecting flights.

Commenting on the alliance, Rex deputy chairman Hon John Sharp said: “We are proud to enhance our services to our ever-increasing loyal customers by offering seamless connections from our regional and domestic ports to a quality international carrier such as Delta Air Lines.

Los Angeles is said to be Delta’s one of the most significant coastal hubs, where the airline currently operates 140 daily flights to 53 destinations worldwide.

Delta head of sales for Australia and New Zealand Nicole Bennett stated: “This service will increase to ten flights per week from 18 December flying our flagship A350.”
