Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) in the US has selected Hill International for handling airport concessions development, tenant projects and airport commercial analysis and development.

Hill will be responsible for managing these programmes at LAWA properties including Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), Van Nuys Airport (VNY) and Palmdale Landholdings.

Through task-order contracts, the company will provide its services under a three-year indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract with two potential one-year extensions.

These task orders will include several projects aimed at enhancing the use and efficiency of airport properties.

Hill stated that it has two major teams, one provides commercial services while another offers technical advisory services.

The team offering commercial advisory services will work on strategic analysis and provide financial advisory services.

The financial advisory services will include commercial terms, economic and financial valuations, real estate analysis and acquisition services, leasing strategies and concession advisory services.

Meanwhile, the technical advisory services group will handle design- and construction-related task projects and field services.

Professionals in commercial real estate, financial analysis, airport design, programme and construction management services will also be part of the team.

The company will help these teams with project controls, document control, change/claims management and building information modelling/computer-aided design.

Hill will also offer drafting (CADD)/geographical information systems services, along with estimating, scheduling and survey services.

Hill Aviation senior vice-president Steven Morris said: “Through the Hill team’s familiarity with LAWA and history of working with airports to maximise their returns on investment, we will drive opportunities for revenue for concessionaires, as well as the city and support small businesses in southern California.

“These projects are critical to LAWA’s post-pandemic operations and also further the city’s reputation as a leader in developing local businesses.”
