The firm will use software to enhance the operational performance of the site-based teams in a bid to deliver better value and quality of service.
Vanderlande Industries Customer Services director Tjarko Bouman said that the company is offering integrated mobile SCADA and maintenance as an enhancement to its full service solutions.
"Mobility clearly differentiates us as a supplier and adds a lot of extra value to the overall benefits of using automation," Bouman said.
According to Vanderlande, the new MMS solution will allow the site-based teams to examine system performance from any location through any mobile device over Wi-Fi or GPRS.
The new solution also offers complete mobile working capabilities to maintenance engineers by allowing users to incorporate the existing SCADA system and IBM ‘s MAXIMO maintenance (enterprise asset management) system.
The new mobile solution is deployed by Vanderlande’s team at London H eathrow Terminal 5 in the UK, and it is planned to be used across other sites in 2012.
According to the firm, the new solution will be offered to new and existing clients who have executed a full service solution and deploy a permanently site-based support team provided by the company.
