Southwest Florida International Airport in Florida, US, handled 420,105 passengers during August 2011, a 5.5% year-on-year drop on the previous year, while its year-to-date passenger traffic increased by 3.3%.

The airport reported 4,917 aircraft takeoffs and landings for the month, a decrease of 8% compared with August 2010.

Freight movement from the airport rose by 5.4% to 2.5 million pounds for the same period.
