Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) has awarded a contract to Passur Aerospace to deploy a surface management and tarmac delay monitor system.

The Passur integrated traffic management solution is expected to create a common operating platform between the airport and Passur Aerospace airlines, as well as expand the airport’s current Passur operations, collaboration and landing fee modules.

Passur’s surface management solution (SMS) will examine and analyse the aircraft movement in the movement and non-movement areas, as well as deliver surface flight tracking on a single display.

The display will allow precise tracking of the surface, terminal airspace, further enabling gate-to-gate tracking and management of flights.

Passur SMS is part of the company’s suite of solutions, which include modules for diversion management, airspace optimisation, tarmac delay management, along with combined airport information and field condition reporting.

"The Passur integrated traffic management solution is expected to create a common operating platform between the airport and Passur Aerospace airlines."

The company’s tarmac delay monitor offers onscreen and email information, as well as alerting flights that experience extended ground delays off the gate and tools that facilitate real-time management of communications regarding coordination.

Passur’s tarmac delay monitor runs on the company’s surveillance network and integrated aviation database, while offering data reliability all through the US.

The contract also includes installation of the Passur-integrated traffic management (PITM) solution.

PITM is a web-hosted business intelligence platform that can address key constraints all through the flight to optimise fuel costs and emissions, schedule integrity and the passenger experience.

PITM is built on a network of global radar surveillance systems, incorporated aviation databases with large historical archives, prognostic analytical algorithms and accessible decision support software.
