Perth International Airport, Australia, is to undergo a A$1.25bn redevelopment plan as part of a major revamp leading up to 2020.
The three phases of work announced so far involve the addition of a new terminal with 16 check-in counters and 14 aircraft gates, and will cost A$750m.
The baggage claim and quarantine inspection areas on the ground floor will be expanded and approximately A$170m will be spent on car parks, roads, taxiways and aprons.
The second phase of the project, which will cost A$500m, will add a new integrated terminal complex to be linked to the multistorey carpark and a new hotel.
Construction is also underway on the new A$120m domestic terminal.
Work on a A$160m project to add a new extension at the western end of the international terminal will begin next year and be completed in 2014.
