ISA certifies Morpho Detection’s CTX 5800 explosive detection system

The Israel Security Agency (ISA) has certified Morpho Detection's CTX explosives detection system (EDS), the CTX 5800, for hold baggage screening at Israeli airports.

The Israel Security Agency (ISA) has certified Morpho Detection’s CTX explosives detection system (EDS), the CTX 5800, for hold baggage screening at Israeli airports.

Morpho Detection said that the CTX 5800 features computed tomography (CT) technology to generate 3-D images and collect data in a compact system.

CTX 5800 is equipped with Clarity, a new data acquisition system (DAS), which incorporates GE Healthcare’s 3D imaging technology and MDI’s automated explosives detection technology, delivering HD3-D images that offer detailed views of baggage contents.

HD3-D, along with navigation tools, helps in analysing details and specific structures of suspected threats to provide maximum information to security officials to assist with effective decision making.

The system, which is capable of screening 400 to 450 bags every hour, will also use precise algorithmic calculations to increase the ability to identify threats, lower false alarm rates and reduce operational costs.

According to the company, CTX 5800 is also approved by the US Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and certified by European Civil Aviation Conference (ECAC), meeting the requirements of European Union Standard 3.
