Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport has started work on the expansion of terminal E to add 54,000ft2 of landside interior terminal space as part of its $1.9bn Terminal Renewal and Improvement Program.

The terminal building between gates E17 and E31 was expanded to create more room for ticketing, baggage claim, security and passenger services.

Terminal E’s initial upgrade also includes the renovation of the satellite terminal, which has seven aircraft gates, and the creation of new concession outlets.

The subsequent three phases of the terminal E renovation will be carried out between 2013 and 2016, and will include the renewal of its main areas.
