As part of the extended contract, ARINC would deploy its vMUSE, BagLink, Common Use Self Service (CUSS) and Local Departure Control System (L-DCS) systems at the airport.
The company would also upgrade all of the airport’s existing systems to comply with the latest standards, including a revamp of vMUSE to the latest IATA CUPPS Standard version 1.3.
Aimed at offering the common use foundation for the entire airport, contract would extend the system to the under construction International Terminal.
Upon the scheduled commencement of operation in 2015, the new terminal would double the size of the airport’s facilities, assisting the airport to improve its services.
Calgary International Airport Information Technologies & Telecommunications director Paul Lawrence said that the airport has been an ARINC customer for the past ten years and the extension would allow it to use its systems for the next ten years.
"Using the ARINC platform is helping us meet our goal of providing our customers with the most positive travel experience possible," Lawrence said.
Arinc’s CUPPS technology is aimed at trimming down the time and required efforts to execute airline applications by standardising technical requirements, while offering improved cost savings and quick deployment.
