French airport operator Aeroports de Paris (ADP) has reported a 3% rise in its passenger traffic to 6 million passengers in February 2012 compared to the same month in 2011.
ADP said that its Paris Charles de Gaulle airport has handled 4.1 million passengers reporting a rise of 3.6% while its Paris Orly airport has recorded 1.6% rise in traffic handling 1.9 million passengers during the month.
The international traffic excluding Europe has rose 6.9% during the period including the French Overseas Departments and Territories reported 15.5% rise, Middle-East has reported 13.7% rise and Latin America has reported 8.6% rise.
Passenger number from Asia-Pacific, North America and Africa region have increased 6.5%, 5.9%, 1.45% rise respectively during the period.
European traffic (excluding France) during the period has increased 1.6% and the Schengen countries rose by 1.7%.
ADP reported that the passenger traffic along the UK and Ireland routes remained constant during the period while traffic within France has reported a 2.1% decline.
During the period, the number of connecting passengers increased by 11.2% and the connecting passenger rate had increased from 6.6% to 24.8% against 23.2% reported in the same period in 2011.
ADP has reported a 3.0% rise in passenger traffic during the first two months of this year over the same period last year.
During first two months, the connecting passenger number increased by 11% while connecting passenger growth stood at 26.6% against 24.9% recorded during the first two months of last year.
The airport operator has reported a 0.8% decline in its aircraft movements to 53,361 during the period when compared to the previous year.
ADP has handled over 88 million passengers and about 2.5 million t of freight and mail in Paris, and 40 million passengers in airports overseas.
